A Small White found at The Marles, Exmouth (SY011825), reported by Liz Hamling.  She reported "I was called to a house in Exmouth where the owner had found a butterfly in their porch. The butterfly was not worn and was fairly active. I suggested that they put it in a ventilated box with egg boxes and crumpled tissue and to put a small amount of sugar water in a shallow dish in the box. The box will be put in back where the insect was found - in the enclosed porch."

(As this was a premature indoor sighting I have not included it in seen so far.)

Peacocks and Brimstones seen near New Bridge, Dartmoor (SX697717,SX702706) by Leonie van Wijk -We started our walk at the carpark at New Bridge (SX 711709) to Sharrah Pool (SX 697717) next to the river Dart. It was a warm spring day, about 15-17 degrees celcius. During this walk we saw quite a few of the species recorded above. The peacock on the attached photo was very easy to photograph as it was sunbathing for quite a while on the warm stones next to the river. It looks like its left wing is a little bit damaged. I reckon it has been hibernating and is from last summer. During the walk there often were a couple of peacocks "dancing" with eachother. Is this a mating ritual? The Brimstones however did not feel like posing for a photo, they were just frantically flying around on their own happy that it is finally spring.  See photo
